FTP, or File Transfer Protocol, represents the most popular method for uploading web files to a hosting account. With an FTP client app that’s pre-installed on your desktop or laptop PC, you can connect to your hosting server and copy all of the web files that you want with a few mouse clicks. This is done using a simple-to-work-with GUI and it is as easy as dragging ‘n’ dropping the aforementioned files. The advantage of using FTP is that you can create several accounts, each one with a different level of access to your server space, so if you wish to provide someone with access, for example – a designer, they will be able to access only a specific folder and won’t be able to view the rest of your web content or any other information, such as personal details. Three must-haves are needed in order to be able to establish an FTP connection – a hostname, which is normally a domain name or an IP, a username and a password.

FTP Accounts in Cloud Web Hosting

Our cloud web hosting plans will allow you to create multiple FTP accounts with just several mouse clicks through the Hepsia hosting Control Panel and to choose what web files and folders each account can connect to. There’s no upper limit on the total number of accounts that you can set up, so you can have as many as you wish at any given time. In case you don’t want to use a certain FTP account anymore or if a web designer has fulfilled their job and you do not want them to access the web content anymore, you can simply remove the account in question. The FTP section of the Hepsia Control Panel will allow you to view all currently existing FTP accounts shown in alphabetical order, together with different options, which you can access with one single click. You will be able to change the password and the access path, to download an auto-configuration file, and so on. We also have an extensive Help section, which can help you administer your FTP accounts should you need to deal with any difficulties.

FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Hosting

If you host your Internet sites under a semi-dedicated server account, you will be able to create a different FTP account for each one of them, as we haven’t put a restriction on this functionality with any of our semi-dedicated server packages. You can do this through the FTP section of our simple-to-work-with Hepsia Control Panel where you can also check the full list of all the FTP accounts that you have created, together with the folder that each one of them can connect to. If needed, you will be able to change the password for a particular account or to change its access path with several mouse clicks. You can also delete an account without efforts if you don’t require it anymore – for example, if you’ve hired a designer who is done with the Internet site and you do not want them to be able to connect to your web files anymore. For the sake of convenience, we have shot different how-to video clips, that will help you manage your FTP accounts without efforts in case you’ve never used a hosting package previously.

FTP Accounts in VPS

None of the Linux VPS offered by our company includes a cap on the maximum number of FTP accounts that you can manage at any moment, so you can set up an account for each Internet site hosted on the server, irrespective of whether it’s under a domain or subdomain. Besides, it does not matter which hosting Control Panel you will pick when you order – Hepsia, cPanel or DirectAdmin, as an FTP server will be set up on your virtual machine at the time of the installation of any of them. If you want different individuals to connect to the same folder using their own set of log-in details, for example, it will take a few clicks to create an FTP account for each of them. Removing an existing account or modifying the folder that it can connect to is just as easy and you will not have to deal with any complications, even if you have no previous experience in such matters.
